About
Winter works loosely with Critical Theory, trash, breaking, sculpture, and subcultures. When all layers are stripped away, movement is what remains. In an attempt to create a cinema-like atmosphere, Winter maintains an ongoing fascination with themes that explore the individual in conflict with societal systems.
Winter lives and works out of Amsterdam. After graduating from the Modern Theatre Dance department in 2020, he studied Artistic Research at the University of Amsterdam. Besides working as a dancer and choreographer he also performs and does movement direction for film. He is a after-sought teacher who teaches both inside as outside the Netherlands.
In 2024 he won the Jonge Zwaan during Nederlandse Dansdagen for his role in Hoop by Danstheater Aya.
Earlier he made No one is an Island which premiered in December 2024 at Karavaan festival. This piece was a physical and psychological research between the ‘trash-society and what it means to be human in relation to.
Since 2025 he is a member of Het Verbond which is a growing art initiative in Amsterdam. He is currently collaborating with companies such as Joshua Monten and Emanuel Gat. In the past he has worked with (amongst others) Felix Landerer, Ivgi and Greben company, Danstheater Aya, Collectief MAMM, Shifft and Sedrig Verwoert.
